The Spring term has already been a wonderful time and the children have really enjoyed their Caribbean topic. Thank you to all the parents for your continuing support!

Butterfly Excitement
In science we have been studying the butterfly lifecycle. We seen each part of the life cycle happen for real in our own classroom! Mrs Walker organised for us to have five caterpillars in each class which we looked after over a period of a month. We watched as they grew bigger, developed into chrysalises and eventually transformed into Painted Lady butterflies. We were lucky enough, in both classes, to see the one of the butterflies emerge from its chrysalis. An incredible experience! Sadly three days after emerging from the Chrysalises we had to release the butterflies. The was an emotional event especially as the butterflies didn't seem to want to fly away! This did mean that several children were able to actually hold the butterflies in their hands!
