Chocolatiers - Enterprise week

Enterprise week saw Year 2 don their hairnets (very professional don't you think?) to design and create a brand of chocolate. The children researched and designed their own chocolates including their own brand name and packaging. We even had a graphic designer from a London design agency have a look over them and she was incredibly impressed with the high quality of work from Year 2. And of course we couldn't end the week without watching ... Charlie and the Chocolate factory!

We want to thank all the parents who supported their children with creating an Easter Garden - the results were outstanding and made the Easter Garden competition a tough one for the judges to choose the winners! Congratulations to Shelby who made a very thoughtful Easter Garden.

 

As an Easter treat for their parents, the children also created some beautiful symmetrical eggs for their easter cards - here's a taster of a few!

 

 

Year 2 Spanish Picnic

'Vamos en un picnic...'

The children worked hard last term in their Spanish lessons learning vocabulary for their end of term treat - a Spanish picnic! You can see from the photos the children had a fantastic time whilst practising their newly learnt language. ¡Fantastico!

Welcome to the Spring term!

Welcome to 2014! We hope you all had a restful and brilliant Christmas holiday. The children have come back with their thinking hats on ready for what we are sure will be a busy and exciting term. Below we have a few memories from last term for you to enjoy! Please do also refer to forthcoming dates on the right hand side.

After a very successful Christmas Production, in the last week the children let their hair down a little and created their own photo booth shots. The children then designed their own cards to add the photos to... a festive hello if ever we saw one!

Languages week 18th - 21st November 2013

Back in November the whole school took part in World Languages Week which led to World Hello Day on 21st November. Year 2 received a special gold envelope in the introductory assembly which revealed their language was .... Portuguese! They learnt some Portuguese to present in front of the whole school and learnt about where Portuguese is spoken. The children even learnt how Brazilian chocolate is made ... they were very interested in this!1

3D shape building

Ever wondered other ways you could put jelly tots and cocktail sticks to good use? Well in true Blue Peter style, the children have been making their own 3D shapes and here are a few they made earlier...

 

 The activity was fantastic to help their understanding of different features of the shapes and they had great time in the process!
