The Spring term has already been a wonderful time and the children have really enjoyed their Caribbean topic. Thank you to all the parents for your continuing support!

SPORT RELIEF 2016
Friday 18th March will see this year's Sport Relief and we are so excited! The children have been practising for their Sport Relief mile every week and are keen to raise sponsorship for their mile on Friday! We will also be having a dance workshop to practise the Sport Relief song for this year. Click on the video below to have a practise at home! We are looking forward to seeing all the children dressed up as their favourite sports people - look out for photos on the blog!

Commando Joe Inflatable
On Thursday 31st March 2016, Commando Joe will be bringing the inflatable assault course in for the children to play on. In order for the children to be able to have this treat they need to demonstrate their excellent behaviour. Any child who is on Red twice between now and the 31st March will lose their opportunity to enjoy the assault course.
Easter Egg Competition
This term's homework project is the Easter Garden Competition. This is always a very popular event and the last chance for the children to design a garden before they enter KS2. The children need to design and make a Garden around the themes of Easter. We have included some good examples below. We would also like the children to explain why their garden should be chosen.

Giving Good Advice
In RE we read the parable The Seed Sower. The children talked about what advice they could give to each other. We wrote our advice on decorated flowers and the planted them outside.
Design and Technology
This term's DT project is making fruit smoothies. So far we have completed some market research tasting a range of different smoothies. We tried to guess what fruit was in each smoothie and then looked at the ingredients to see if we were correct. This week we practised cutting, grating and peeling. We watched videos on each skill and then worked around each activity. We used the claw grip to cut the celery and the bridge hold to cut the apples.
World Book Day
On Thursday 3rd March it was World Book Day. We started the day with a fantastic assembly and then we were told a story called Tiddalick. The session was really interactive and we all enjoyed doing all the actions for each animal.
